Kevin “Dugie” Dugan, bass technician for Van Halen, was once the target of a spectacular and unforgettable prank by Mick Jagger, rock legend and Rolling Stones vocalist, which left Dugan perplexed and pleased. Based on an incident that happened in 1981 while Van Halen was the Rolling Stones’ opening act, the prank was born. Dugan hurried over to aid bassist Michael Anthony by obtaining spare strings while the band was performing live. Swiftly, he swung open a toolbox door, colliding with Mick Jagger and sending the rock star reeling. Although Jagger appeared unconcerned and even rejected Dugan’s apologies, he obviously chose to revisit the experience at a later date.
